Detroit Home // October 2017
IN THE DETAILS
A trifecta of beauty includes a Wesley Hall social sofa and Palecek Green Oaks wall pendant, both from the RJ Thomas Ltd. showroom at Troy’s Michigan Design Center, and the Due Process Stable Trading Co. Jinan rug from MDC’s Ghiordes Knot. The large clay centerpiece of candles on the coffee table and a beaded chandelier (see opposite page) add to the peaceful ambiance.
YOU WANT TO
sit right down in this vignette at the RJ Thomas Ltd. showroom at Michigan Design Center. Created during “Celebrations Around the World,” which featured designs commemorating the center’s 40th anniversary, designers Margaret Skinner, left, of Birmingham-based Margeaux Interiors (margeauxinteriors.com) and Ann-Marie Anton, far left, of It’s Personal Design (itspersonaldesign.com) in Grosse Pointe Woods, presented a color palette inspired by The Detroit Wallpaper Co. wallcovering, which hints at diversity and multiculturalism (see opposite page photo). The warm color scheme mixes textures and earthy elements in the reclaimed wood of the panel screen (see opposite page photo, made by Lars Dundas/Woodshop at Far End), the nubby throw, and the woven and faux fur materials of the sofa.
